Q: How Do I Setup my Email Client

Updated: 10-20-2006

As of October 20th, TheNetMark strongly advises you to update your email client to use the IMAP protocol only. We have introduced server side Spam filtering and if you continue to use the POP3 email protocol you will notice that no SPAM!!! emails will be downloaded to your client. This may seem like a good thing, but occasionally a legitimate email will be placed in the Spam Folder on accident. For more info please check our News Page.

If you wish to use your own Email Client instead of the Webmail service that we provide for you, you need to follow these simple instructions. Scroll down to see setup instructions for specfic clients.

In order to use an email client to send and receive The Netmark Email messages, you must designate a new incoming (IMAP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server.

If you can't add new IMAP or SMTP servers, you will need to change your current server settings. Write down your current settings first — you may need to revert to your original settings later if you decide to send and receive messages from your other email addresses.

Here are the basic server settings for The Netmark Email:

  • Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server: mail.thenetmark.com
  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mail.thenetmark.com
                                            -OR-
  • Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server: mail.yourdomain.com*
  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mail.yourdomain.com*
  • Account Name/Username: yourusername@thenetmark.com
  • Email Address: yourusername@thenetmark.com
  • Password: Provided at the inital setup

* replace yourdomain.com with the domain name we purchased for you.
