We have currently upgraded and enhanced our email services. We have decided to go forth with the IMAP protocol instead of the POP3 protocol.
What does this mean to you?
With IMAP, all your email is stored on the server, allowing you to access your email from any computer in the world. IMAP also allows for server-side filtering. This means that we can detect SPAM emails and automatically and send them to a Spam folder that is now located in your mailbox directorys.
If you take notice, there are also two other new folders, IsSpam and NotSpam. These folders will help you teach our servers what is and what is not SPAM. Basically what you should do is, if there is a Spam email that comes in that is NOT tagged SPAM!!!, then place this mail in your IsSpam folder. The same goes for a legitimate email that IS marked as SPAM!!!, you will want to place this good email into the NotSpam folder, and the server will eventually learn what you consider IsSpam and NotSpam.
For best practice you should delete all your SPAM!!! emails at least once a week to keep the loadtimes on the server faster for you. If you use the webmail client, you will notice that the more emails that you have, the longer it takes to open. This is something we are looking into fixing and improving, but a cleaner mailbox provides for faster service.
We advise you to go ahead and setup your email client now to use IMAP instead of the original POP3. We have updated the instructions on the FAQ page. You will find everything much faster, cleaner, and more convenient. Please let us know if you have any concerns or questions by either emailing us at info (AT) thenetmark.com, or calling us direct. 888-767-8750.
